Mossvale CONSULTING
Mossvale consulting office
§ 01 — COMPANY

A consulting practice built around how organisations actually work.

Mossvale started from a simple observation: most teams already know what they need to do — they need the space and structure to do it well.

§ 02 — OUR STORY

How Mossvale came to be.

Mossvale was founded in Chiang Mai with a specific focus: to help organisations in Thailand run their internal working sessions better. Not as a management theory provider, but as a hands-on partner in the room.

The practice grew from experience working with leadership teams across Southeast Asia who wanted more from their offsites and planning sessions — more clarity, more honesty, and more tangible output. The gap between what a retreat could be and what most retreats actually produced was consistently wide.

Mossvale exists to close that gap. By working closely with the host before the event, designing agendas that suit the group rather than copying a generic structure, and facilitating with attention rather than performance, we help teams do the thinking they have been putting off.

Alongside retreat facilitation, we offer a goal-setting workshop and a decision log setup engagement — both designed around the same principle: that working practices built together, with a clear structure, tend to last far longer than those handed down from above.

§ 04 — STANDARDS

How we approach our work.

Each engagement is held to the same internal standards, regardless of size.

Pre-engagement design

Every session is prepared in advance with the client. No standard agendas applied without discussion.

Written deliverables

Each engagement closes with a written output — not slides, but documents designed to be referenced and used.

Confidentiality

All session content and client information is treated as confidential. Nothing is shared without explicit agreement.

Neutral facilitation

The consultant's role is to hold the structure, not to influence the decisions. The team's outcomes belong to the team.

Timely delivery

Post-engagement documents are delivered within the agreed timeframe — typically within three business days of the session.

Clear communication

Scope, fee, and timeline are agreed in writing before work begins. No surprises at the invoice stage.

§ 05 — EXPERTISE

What we know, and where we work best.

Mossvale's experience is in organisational facilitation — the process of helping groups of people move through important conversations and arrive at useful outcomes. This is a different discipline from management consultancy, which typically diagnoses problems and recommends solutions. Facilitation works alongside the organisation rather than above it.

Much of the work is done before the session itself: understanding the group, clarifying the actual question at hand, designing a sequence of exercises that builds toward a real output. The day-of facilitation is the visible part; the preparation behind it determines whether it works.

We have particular experience with mid-sized organisations — teams large enough to have coordination challenges, and small enough that the leadership is still closely involved in day-to-day decisions. The Northern Thailand region, and Chiang Mai in particular, has a significant concentration of such organisations — regional offices, family businesses, NGOs, and internationally-oriented companies.

The three services Mossvale offers were chosen because they address recurring, practical needs: the annual offsite that rarely delivers what it should, the goal-setting process that differs between teams, and the institutional memory that lives only in the heads of those who were in the room.
